- “Cold storage” refers to the storage of information on a support/system never connected to any network. An information in cold storage is considered hackerproof.
- “Hot storage” refers to the storage of information on a support/system connected to the network.
- Directly or indirectly exposing a seed to the network makes it “hot” forever as it may have been compromised in the meantime.
